Dogs

Aesthetically, Japan is the strangest place, with a unique mixture of incredible refinement and relentless cutesiness. This love of the cute spills over into the relationship with dogs - hard to spot one that isn't elaborately groomed and usually dressed too, and shops like 'Baby Doll' in Shibuya, Tokyo, with tiny puppies in brighly lit glass display boxes are really about teenage girls spilling out of nightclubs and getting their boyfriends to buy them a puppy as a sweet end to an evening (thanks, Sanna, for this obs!). Who said being a tourist was about relinquishing being judgemental?
