Drawing and photography are central to my practice. Both make pressing - if sometimes fictitious - claims to the capture of lost moments.

Practicing

Still practicing getting the hang of drawing on a graphics tablet - beginning to see that the options are infinite, from something that really simulates the material sketchbook (pen and ink is particularly 'realistic') to an idiom that is more obviously digital and combines the photographic with the graphic. Exciting! Of course a lot also depends on the software...

I've never gotten around to using the tablet much - I dislike the sensorial (?) experience and miss the paper grain and the varying resistance of pencil/pen/brush against the surface.

Yes, I understand that - it's the general complaint of people who don't like digital, but I'm as in love with technology as I am with paper and ink and paint, so it's interesting - the process is very very different though, you're right!
